After October 7, 2023, Leah Caroline interrupted her seemingly quiet mandala-like drawings ("Integrations") with painful newspaper headlines—cut up and reordered. “Searching Rubble” relates to her witnessing the increase in
antisemitic rhetoric—subtle, overt, and confusing. She continues to layer meditative drawings over these reconfigured mandalas, hopefully restoring them to places of healing.
